We have been absolutely thrilled with Wiegand’s Lake Park! What started out as a one time event to thank our employees and customers has now been going on for over 10 years! The professional and courteous staff at Wiegand’s know how to host a perfect corporate event. From the quality and diversity of the food to the many activities available at the park, Wiegand’s is the ideal place to hold a company picnic.

Exclusivity is a huge factor for us. We like knowing that Wiegand’s is all ours for the duration of our function. Our employees and guests get to spend quality time together either just strolling around the beautiful grounds or participating in one of the many events we plan throughout the day.

Our picnic is really a family affair. From young children to older adults, the park has something for everyone. And perhaps most importantly, there’s never a concern about the safety and security of our guests. The Wiegand’s staff makes sure the park is always clean and in perfect condition.

The compliments keep coming in weeks after our event at Wiegand’s is over. The question we get over and over again is…"When is next year’s picnic?”

I love the way Wiegand's serves their food. At other places, everyone

lines up and you are required to eat at a specific time. At Wiegand's,

the food is served over a six hour period. There is never a line.

And the staff does a great job at making sure the food is replenished

Grandma Wiegand is a gem!

As this year closes, we look forward to spending time with family and friends in celebration of the holiday season. And that means January is just around the corner and The NRP Group LLC and I will hear from Wiegand’s Lake Park regarding available dates for next year’s company picnic.

Last June’s picnic at Wiegand’s was NRP’s first visit to your park. At first I got complaints about it being so far out as many of the staffers are “west-siders” or live even farther away. And I took additional heat because it was very convenient to my home in Burton, (which is an admitted plus factor). Well the complaining was completely forgotten that day because everyone had such a wonderful time.

There are so many things that contributed to everyone’s enthusiasm. The food got rave reviews (the bosses wife asked for your oven fried chicken recipe), and being served over a six hour period works so well for everyone. It is so much better than having a set time when all attendees must stand and wait in line to get their food. The “grazing” option is just great and works especially well for the little ones whose “feed me I’m hungry” schedule varies from child to child. This option allows everyone to sample a little of this and a little of that at their own pace instead of trying to load their plate and eat it all at one setting. There is bound to be waste that way.

The park itself is just beautiful and the inviting lake and other amenities make for a wonderfully relaxing day. The kids loved having ice cream and other treats readily available and they had a blast with the activities we planned.

What a concept having your very own private park for a day with great food, fun activities, a really accommodating staff and a perfect place to relax and enjoy the lovely setting with co-workers. NRP can’t wait until next summer when they return.

Thanks again for everything and keep going strong with this wonderful unique business. You are Geauga County’s little treasure.

We found our entire Wiegand experience rewarding. Our expectations were met or exceeded in every measurable area. The entire park area was clean, well organized and accommodating. The variety of food choices allowed us to customize our menu. Food was plentiful, well prepared and the availability throughout the day allowed every picnic-goer the flexibility to enjoy the park and our activities at their leisure. As pleasing an experience as it was, the greatest compliment must be paid to the Wiegand staff. Wendy and her crew, Mom and Dad included, went out of their way to create a warm and inviting atmosphere and make us feel as though we were "at home". We hope to be back next year.

Wiegand’s Lake Park has been the park of choice for four years.  What keeps us coming back?

1. The quality and quantity of food is at the top of the list.  I have not found another facility that serves great food throughout the day.  In fact, our menu remains the same year after year, as our associates would revolt if I left an item off!
2. Cleanliness and activities are also important for a successful picnic (this is a Philips family event), and Wiegand’s scores excellent points.  I attribute this to Wendy.  She is always looking for ways to make it convenient and entertaining for her customers.  Additionally, Wendy runs a tight ship.  With a young staff, all are respectful, and always working to keep the park clean and the customers happy.

In closing, parks such as Cedar Point and Geauga Lake everyone meets at a designated time and place for a one-hour lunch, and that is the last time you see anyone.  Wiegand’s Lake Park is large enough that one can find a quiet place to read a book or simply enjoy the outdoors, and small enough to enjoy family, friends, and fellow employees all day long.
